To help cover costs, Richard tries to flip a big old bus once used by Grateful Dead fans to follow the band on tour, and attempts to unload his ’58 Corvette on a tough customer from California.

Richard decides to stick with the Ferrari F-40 rebuild, despite the high cost of parts and labor. As Aaron and company sweat the details of reassembling the supercar, Richard put his hopes for a financial windfall into a rare ’66 Porsche, and a century-old REO.

Gas Monkey Garage signs up for the Redbull Flugtag -- and Aaron is in charge of making and piloting their flying craft. But building something with wings instead of wheels proves to be a challenge, even for this master mechanic. Plus, when a rare Dodge Wayfarer rolls in, Richard’s hopes for a fast flip get stalled when the engine refuses to start.

As engine troubles plague the Smokey and the Bandit build, Richard travels to Florida to meet the Bandit himself, Burt Reynolds. After missing the transport truck, Richard and Aaron have to race the Trans-Am down to New Orleans themselves. During the drive, Richard dreams he’s the star of a wild Gas Monkey version of Smokey and the Bandit.
